Put your assistant on a phone number
Claim a managed number to test and set up your assistant, or connect your own number over a SIP trunk to go live with real callers.
A short walkthrough of phone numbers in the VoiceDock dashboard: the two ways to get a number, how to link it to an assistant, and how to test it with a real call.
In this video
- The two ways to get a number: a managed number for testing and setup, and your own number for going live
- Claim a managed number under Numbers → Claim a managed number
- Add your own number with Add Number: forward calls from your provider, enter the number in international format and pick the agent that answers
- Link one number to one assistant, and change it later under Linked Agent
- Call your number and find the conversation under Calls, with a full transcript
Going live
A managed number is meant for testing and setting up your assistant, not for real customers. When you go live, connect your own number over a SIP trunk. Need a hand connecting your provider? Email us at info@voicedock.ai and we'll help you set it up.
